Yesterday, Huawei unveiled 3 new versions of the MateBook laptop w/ the updated version of last year’s 2-in-1: the MateBook E and a larger 15inch laptop w/ the MateBook D. But we’re focusing more on their new flagship: the MateBook X.
The X is their super portable 13inch Windows 10 laptop reminiscent of the MacBook Air. This has an aluminum unibody design w/ a slim 12.5mm thick and a super small bezel of only 4.4mm – 88% screen to body ratio. The display has a3:2 aspect ratio w/ a 2K resolution w/o touchscreen options though.
As far as power & performance is concerned, you got the options for 4GB/8GB of RAM and 256GB/512GB SSD options w/ a Power button that doubles as a fingerprint reader that works w/ Windows Hello. Dolby will be handling the audio w/ Atmos Sound System to offer 3D audio soundstage. You got USB-C dongle w/ a standard USB port, DVI, HDMI, and a 2nd USB-C port for charging.
All of the laptops are set to arrive sometime later this summer. No word on pricing as of yet but the MateBook X is definitely a standout of their newest collection of Windows laptops. So who’s looking to grab one later this year?
