We told you it was coming and it’s now here.  Introducing the new-and-improved Surface Pro from Microsoft.   This is more or less a refresh similar to performance base Surface Book minus a few things that usually ship w/ the Surface though.

No USB-C & no Surface Pen included this time.

For starters, it will be powered by a 7th-gen Intel Kaby Lake CPU w/ a new fanless design for the Core m5 + i5 variants.  Along w/ that, you got an integrated SSD on the motherboard.  The new Surface touts a battery life up to 13 & a half hours.  This all helps to give the new one 50% longer battery life than the Pro 4, 2.5x more performance than the Pro 3, and the fastest startup & resume of any Surface Pro to date.

You now have a new hinge on the rear which allows you to go damn near flat.  It’s actually using the same 165-degree angle hinge from the Surface Studio along w/ support for the Surface Dial coming later this summer.  You also get a new Surface Pen, which starts at $99, gets boosted to 4096 levels of sensitivity to be even more responsive.

And lastly, the Surface Pro finally gets LTE support but we don’t know exactly when the LTE version is coming.  Pre-orders kicks off today starting at $800 for the Core m3 CPU, 4GB of RAM & 128GB SSD and goes up to $2,700 for the Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, & Intel Iris GPU.  The new Surface Pro will begin shipping on June 15th.
