Earlier today, Sonos sent out invites for a press event out in NYC. What’s it for you might ask? More than likely the alleged smart speaker that has been brewing over in the rumor mill for a few weeks now.
The 1st smart speaker by Sonos is said to offer integrated voice controls and far field mics to support multiple voice platforms & music services. Leaked FCC references has the codename under S13 as well as the aforementioned details.
Sonos is definitely a leader in wireless home audio but a lot of us were wondering what took so long to enter this space. You already got Amazon, Google, and even Apple in the game ahead of them. And Apple is usually super-late to every party. Not sure if Sonos will bring its own virtual assistant to the table or utilize Alexa or Google Assistant.
We’ll have about a month to find out everything, unless it leaks ahead of schedule. Who’s excited to see what Sonos has been working on?
