Yesterday, the folks over at Android Police published a report suggesting the other products that may arrive w/ the new Pixel smartphones later this fall. More specifically, a smaller Google Home and a new take on the Chromebook Pixel.
Google might be looking to level the playing field on the hardware side of things.
The mini Home speaker would be released to go head-to-head against the Amazon Echo Dot. This would allow you to access your home audio via voice, work hand-to-hand w/ multiple Google Home speakers, and put Google Assistant in more places in your home.
Now onto the new Chromebook Pixel, it is said to priced starting at $799 and to match-up against the MacBook & Surface Pro. So we’re talking about a 12.3inch display, 32GB/128GB of storage, 8GB/16GB of RAM, and an optional Wacom stylus (sold separately). It is said to be under 10mm thick and will offer a tablet mode similar to the Chromebook Plus or ASUS Flip line.
We’re expecting another October launch this year. The new Chromebook Pixel might make it or be announced at a later time & date. While the smaller Home speaker should arrive right on time w/ the new Pixel phones. So who’s game for a smaller Home or a new Chromebook Pixel?
