Ever since Motorola came out w/ their Z-series, I figured the X-line would take a backseat in regards to their premium device inventory. Today’s announcement just made it official. Introducing the Moto X4: adding a dual camera setup, dropping down a bit in power, and adding Alexa abilities.
The Moto X drops down a tier but still powerful.
The Moto X4 offers a 5.2inch 1080p display, powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 630 CPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage w/ microSD card, running Android 7.1 Nougat, IP68 dust/water-resistant body, fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3000 mAh battery.
The X4 has a dual camera setup on the rear w/ one f/2.0 12MP sensor + a f/2.2 8MP sensor and a f/2.0 16MP front-facing camera. These shooters will offer depth effects like selective focus + color modes. As the selfie shooter will offer an adaptive low-light mode to improve your grainy selfies.
And lastly, the Moto X4 will get hands-free Amazon Alexa support built-in. So you’ll be able to use it like you would on an Echo or other Alexa devices. This is the 1st as Alexa support will arrive in other Moto phones in the near future.
Not quite the Project Fi phone it was rumored but not a bad looking phone. No word on pricing but will hit the US sometime in the fall. Thoughts?
