Google’s dream for their own competiting smartphone comes to fruition.
The Pixel 2 will offer a 4.9inch 1080p AMOLED always-on display, and a 2700 mAh battery. While the Pixel 2 XL will offer a 6inch QHD pOLED always-on display w/ 18:9 aspect ratio and a 3520 mAh battery.
Both Pixels will offer dual front-facing stereo speakers, Snapdragon 835 CPU, 4GB of RAM, running Android 8.0 w/ new Pixel launcher, IP67 dust/water-resistance, no headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0, squeezable sides called Active Edge to activate Google Assistant, music recognition, USB-C w/ fast-charging, arrive in 3 colors (just black, clearly white, & kinda blue) and come in 64GB or 128GB storage options.
Now onto the camera: you got a rear-facing f/1.8 12.2MP sensor w/ OIS + EIS and autofocus w/ laser & dual pixel phase detection. It also had Dual pixels to take in more data to pull off a single lens portrait mode. On the front, you got a f/2.4 8Mp selfie camera. On the video side of things, you can shoot 4K @30fps, 1080p@ 30fps, 60fps, 120fps, and 720p@30fps, 60fps, 240fps. Google Lens which can search via photo lives within the camera & Google Assistant.
The Pixel 2 arrives at $649 for the 64GB & $749 for the 128GB. While the Pixel 2 XL is priced at $849 for the 64GB and $949 for the 128GB. Pre-orders kick off today and begin shipping on the 17th. Anyone who orders one will get a Google Home Mini for free.
