Last week, we learned that the Galaxy S9 would be officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress. While we’re still about a month away from MWC, we may have found everything or at least the main spec sheet for the upcoming Galaxy S9 from Samsung.
Late last week, an image popped up on reddit of the retail box for the S9. And like the past few years, Samsung puts the key specs/features on the rear of its packaging as you can see above.
So for the S9, we’re looking at a 5.8inch QHD Super AMOLED display w/ 2960 x 1440 resolution, powered by a octa-core Snapdragon 845 CPU (Exynos chipset overseas), 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage expandable via microSD, a 12MP rear camera w/ OIS & the abiity to change the aperture from f/1.5-f/2.4, 8MP selfie camera, Super Slo-Mo mode capable of 4K video @120fps (may or may not come to the US though), 3200 mAh battery, IP68 dust/water resistant body, stereo speakers by AKG, improved Iris scanner, better placement of the fingerprint scanner, headphone jack, and wireless charging.
While the S9+ would share damn-near most of the specs but w/ a larger 6.2inch display, a larger battery, 6GB of RAM, & dual rear-facing cameras. This may signal bigger things coming to the Note 9 too since the S9+ has more or less become the Note 8 minus the S Pen.
So yeah, Samsung wanted to make sure to kick off the year w/ some excitement towards their flagship for the 1st half of the year. What do you think of everything coming to the S9? Stereo speakers? Changing rear-camera aperture for better low-light? Sound off.
