At this point, we’re not sure what’s happening to the DJI Mavic 2.  There was supposed to be an event for it on July 18th that got canceled and has been quiet ever since. Recently, we got a bit more clarity on the upcoming drone(s) from DJI.

According to the folks over Drone DJ & Twitter users, we’ll see not one but 2 drones under the Mavic 2 moniker.  We’ll see the Mavic 2 Pro & the Mavic 2 Zoom which clears up some of the confusion involved w/ the multiple drones in previous leaks.  The standard one will be the Zoom model that will offer a 2x optical zoom while the Pro will offer a Hasselblad camera w/ a 1inch sensor & no optical zoom.

Other than that, we got a 360-degree collision awareness, 45MPH top speed, 31-minute battery life, and the ability to transmit 1080p video up to 5 miles.  No mention of 4K video abilities but I’m sure that’s the case but we’ll have to wait for official fps.  Other than that, we have no word in regards to possible pricing.  We can assume a starting point of $999.

Now that we’re getting more info on the Mavic 2 drones, who’s interested in picking up one of these new drones?
