While we’re not expecting the in-display fingerprint reader to make it to the Galaxy Note 9, we’re already getting word of its appearance on next year’s Galaxy S10.  Reports suggest this as well as the removal of iris scanners as this would also signal to the move to facial recognition.

The Korean news report, The Bell, suggests just that w/ in-display fingerprint scanner & 3D facial recognition.   These would act as easier options to unlock your phone.  Currently, the fingerprint reader is on the rear & the face unlock option isn’t as secure as they’d like it to be.  The introduction of 3D facial recogniition could help w/ that.  Just as they catch up to Apple w/ Face ID & now Memoji feature which is a much better execution of Samsung’s AR Emoji.  Recently, Samsung partnered w/ a company to better improve their 3D facial recognition.  Hopefully, we’ll see the fruits of their partnership soon.

Along w/ that, we may see 3 variants of the Galaxy S10 next year.  This would be 2 versions of the 5.8inch S10 & still the 1 6.2inch S10 Plus.  The 2nd 5.8inch S10 is said to be a middle ground between the 2 by offering dual rear cameras.  We’re not too sure about this last one so don’t hold us to it.

If part or all of this comes into fruition, who would be excited for the Galaxy S10?
