Android P Is Officially Android Pie, Available For Pixel Phones

Well, we thought we’d have to wait longer to find out the official name for Android P.  Not sure who was actually correct in their guesses but the 9th version of Android (formerly known as Android P) is officially Android Pie.

So if you have a Pixel device, you can get access to it right now via OTA or Android Beta Program.  At the current time, they’ve opened it up for the Essential Phone as well. The Beta Program includes phones from Sony, Xiaomi, Nokia, Oppo, OnePlus, & Vivo.

You get a new swiping-based navigation system, AI-powered Adaptive Battery, Digital Wellness dashboard to monitor how much time you spend on your phone, and slices.  Unfortunately, the Digital Wellness & Slices features won’t be available for all until fall.  However, Pixel owners can get access to Digital Wellness by hitting this link.

We’ve been using the Android Pie since the 1st beta and can’t wait for everyone else to give it a shot.
