Yesterday afternoon, Microsoft unveiled the new 2018 members of the Surface family in NYC.  We weren’t in attendance but they looked dope.  We got the Surface Pro 6, the Surface Laptop 2, the Surface Studio 2, and the Surface Headphones.

Other than the headphones, it just seems like everything got a Black color option.  Along w/ upgraded internals, that;’s pretty much it along w/ some new software & bundle options.  Here’s everything you need to know about their new Surface products.

Surface 2018 devices: 8th-gen Intel chips, better battery, & a Black paintjob.

Surface Pro 6

The 6th-gen 2-in-1 laptop gets better w/ every iteration.  It is now armed w/ 8th-gen intel quad-core CPUs, up to 16GB of RAM, an 8MP auto-focus camera, and 13.5-hours of battery life.  It still retains the detachable keyboard and 12.3inch PixelSense touchscreen display.  Pricing starts at $899 as pre-orders are already live.

Surface Laptop 2

The official 2nd-gen Surface Laptop arrives to make it tough to decide which portable Surface computer to get.  You now have a 8th-gen Intel quad-core CPUs, up to 1TB SSD, and a 14.5-hour battery life – all on the same 13.5inch PixelSense touchscreen display.  The laptop retains the Alcantara keyboard for those who like or despise it.  Pricing starts at $999 w/ pre-orders are already in effect.

Surface Studio 2

The largest Surface got some new internals as well.  It has an NVIDIA GPU, 2TB SSD, and its massive 28inch touchscreen PixelSense display w/ 4096 levels of pressure.  For some reason, it is armed w/ a 7th-gen Core i7 CPU instead of a more recent Intel chipset.  Pricing starts at $3,500 and you can pre-order one now as well.

Surface Headphones

Now the new Surface headphones is something unexpected from Microsoft.  These are lightweight cans  that offer 40mm drivers, 13 levels of noise cancellation, a 15-hour battery life, support for Cortana, charges via USB-C, and works w/ both Android & iOS devices.  Pricing aligns w/ the likes of Bose & Sony for $350.  These cans are due out sometime around the holidays.

Surface All Access

Like Xbox’s all-in-one subscription plan, Microsoft revealed one for the Surface as well.  This one works the same as you will get a Surface device w/ accessories and Office 365 bundle for $25 per month for 2 years.   So which one of these Surface devices will you be adding to your Christmas list?
