The cat is out of the bag about new integration arriving in Samsung TVs for 2019.   According to the folks over at Variety, Google Assistant will be joining Bixby for digital assistants on their TVs.

This would give users access to control channels/settings, search actors/character’s names, weather, movie showtimes, and more via your voice.  For most people, this is good news as Bixby is decent at best but nowhere near the functionality + abilities of Google Assistant.

Along w/ the bit of news, Samsung is also looking to add the ability to adapt the sound output based on the room the TV is in.  This is technology that Apple’s HomePod & Sonos speakers already utilize as they measure the room via sounds & microphones to their sound.

We’re expecting an official announcement sometime during the upcoming madness that is CES 2019.  So who’s excited or is it not that serious for you?
