After a long 2 years, we’re finally getting a feature many have been waiting for the full launch of speed limits on Google Maps.  This adds speed limit while using navigation but only from within the app.

The new feature began rolling out over the weekend to the US, UK, & Denmark.  With speed limits being displayed, we also get speed traps coming as well.  Both borrowed from the lovely Waze navigation app.  Speed traps feature is going live in the US, UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, India, Indonesia, & Russia.

It started as a limited trial run and is now available for all Map users on both Android & iOS.  If you’re not seeing it after a while, you may have to go to Settings to toggle speed limits on/off.

Happy navigating!
