Yesterday, Nike announced a new shoe on their Adapt line w/ the Adapt BB sneaker.  The BB stands for Basketball BTW.  This is more or less the sequel to their HyperAdapt 1.0 sneaker w/ power laces but more flushed out tech.  The BB is a self-lacing shoe w/ wireless charging connected via your app.

This thing quite the bit of tech inside other than how it laces itself.  You got a microcontroller, a 505mAh battery, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a Bluetooth module, motor, lights, pressure sensor, a capacitive touch sensor, temperature sensor, and wireless charging coil.  Moving onto the fact that it has a battery, it will give you around 10 to 14 days on a single charge.  It does charge via USB-C port BTW along w/ Qi-like charging mats.  Mats won’t be sold by themselves at first as they will ship w/ the shoes.  If the battery does die, you can still unlace them.

Nike plans to keep pursuing the Adapt tech and will continue to bring it to other products soon.  For those of you interested, they go on sale next month.  On February 17th, you can get them for $350.

Who’s dropping Yeezy Boost $$$ on these?
