Earlier this morning, the folks at Samsung kind of shocked us tech pundits w/ this one.  And this one I mean the announcement of the Galaxy S10 unveiling.  This is a big year for the company as this marks a decade of the Galaxy S line of smartphones.

Instead of unveiling at MWC as per usual, they opted to do their own thing this year.  So on February 20th, Samsung will unveil the S10 line of devices in San Francisco and London.   The 2019 flagship is said to have a near-bezel less display w/ the pinhole front-facing camera, in-display fingerprint reader, 3-4 cameras on the rear, 5G capable, and more.  We’re expecting around 3-4 variants of the S10 as well.  According to the folks over at the Wall Street Journal, we’re supposed to get the folding Galaxy that’s fully functional as well.

It has come a long way from the iPhone knockoff it once was to its own force in the mobile space.  So much so that consumers don’t call an Android device by its name.  You either have an iPhone or a Galaxy.  Yeah, its a now a noun that represents Android for the casual consumer.

The event will be livestreamed online as it will kick off at 11AM PST/1PM EST.  We’ll follow up with an link to the actual video to watch.  Will this be the 1st device you pick up for 2019 or are you waiting to see what else is coming 1st?
