Earlier today, Google dropped the 1st beta for Android Q software for all Pixel smartphones.  So if you have a Pixel/Pixel XL, Pixel 2/2XL, or a Pixel 3/3 XL; you can grab it now.

Now Q won’t be a game-changing update but aims to be a more helpful one for both developers & users alike.  It will support foldable displays, better biometric authentication, native monochrome camera support, better Autofill, new Settings Panels that allows for system settings to pop-up within an app, more clarity w/ location or other access for apps, and more.  So far on the beta, only a minor developer features are available.

They’re moving a bit different this year as they released a schedule of when we can expect the other betas as well as the final version of Android Q.  So the 2nd beta is due out in early April, 3rd beta in May, 4th beta in June, and 5th/6th/final versions are due out sometime in the 3rd quarter.

So there’s what you need to know about Android Q thus far.  I grabbed it but wasn’t a lot to really show off in a video.  The easter egg still shows the one from Pie.  Any guesses on what the Q will stand for?
