So last night was the night Tesla’s vehicle list got a little longer as they introduced their Model Y vehicle.  This is the crossover SUV that is a more or less a Model 3 styled version of the Model X.  Smaller, slightly less features, and less expensive.

The Model Y: Baby Model X w/o the Falcon Doors + Model 3 Style Interior

The Model Y will be the company’s 2nd mass-produced vehicle behind the Model 3.  Speaking of the 3, the Y will offer the same single 15inch touchscreen display in the center of the dashboard.  However, it will still be able to seat up to 7 inside of this thing.  I just hope you weren’t expecting those lovely Falcon Wing doors on a vehicle that starts at under $50K though cause it ain’t here.

The cheapest standard 230-mile range version starts at $39,000 and won’t be out until 2021.  The all-wheel drive dual motor version will start at $51,000 and the 0-60mph in 3.5 second performance model starts at $60,000.  Musk let it be known that despite its SUV look , it still handles like a sports car.

Tesla has already began taking pre-orders w/ a minimum $2,500 deposit down.  Is this the Tesla you’ve been waiting for and who already reserved theirs?
