So one of the other big news people were waiting for is more details on the upcoming Android Q. And we pretty much got everything save for the official name for it. Let’s dive into what’s new shall we?
- First and foremost, Dark Theme is coming at hit of a tab
- Improved gesture navigation – this does more w/ the no Home or Back button and adds more iOS-like swiping for navigation.
- Live captions – real-time closed caption for videos but don’t think that includes YouTube just yet though.
- Focus Mode – the next step of using Digital Wellbeing by selecting to disable the select apps that eat up your time.
- More Smart Reply options & suggested features
- More Security/Privacy features – like select parts to update instead having to reboot the entire phone and Incognito Mode in Maps to name a few of the new things.
- Continuity support for upcoming folding devices.
- 5G support
Android Q Beta is coming to 21 devices this year in total. So along w/ all 3 generations of the Pixel smartphones, it will arrive to:
