Microsoft might be working on a new take on the popular Surface tablets.  According to the folks over at Forbes, they’re hard at work on a different form factor for the Surface line.

More specifically, a dual screen Surface is codenamed Centaurus and will be comprised of two 9inch displays w/ 4:3 aspect ratios capable of running Android apps as well.  This is said to run a new Windows Core OS which will be a more lightweight version of Windows capable of running on 2 displays.  Inside is said to be powered by the latest Intel 10nm CPUs w/ LTE or 5G connectivity.

Microsoft adding Android apps to a Surface device is quite the surprise move.  They’re really trying to dethrone Chromebooks within the education sector by offers something similar but in a slightly different from factor.  In order for Microsoft to pull this off, they will need to create their own Android App Store to bypass Google Play Services access.

The Centaurus is said to launch sometime within early 2020.  Is this something you might be interested in picking up if it comes into fruition?
