Today, Sprint & T-Mobile are officially one company.  The folks over at the US Department of Justice finally approved the $26 billion deal/merger that took over a year to finalize.   Once the dust settles, they will move as the New T-Mobile.

Now that it is complete, they will have around 80 million subscribers that will bring them a lot closer to AT&T and Verizon.  They will move forward & focus on bringing their customers high-quality 5G speeds.

Now this is where Dish Network comes into play in all of this.  They were bidding against companies like Altice & Charter to take on some of assets to start another 4th option for consumers.

Now the New T-Mobile has to now sell off their prepaid assets (that include Boost Mobile & Virgin Mobile) to Dish Network as well as a portion of Sprint’s 800MHz network & 20,000 cell sites and 100s of retail locations to get started.  This way there’s still enough options for consumers rather than less – I guess.

This was the only way that got deal done.  Take Dish Network out of the equation and its a no-go.  However, there are state lawsuits pending that could still hurt the merger so they aren’t quite in the clear just but they got the big hurdles taken care of.

Are you excited, pissed, or don’t care about this all happening?
