Tamron is following up w/ their beloved f/2.8 28-75mm Sony E-mount lens w/ another piece of great glass. This is their f/2.8 17-28mm lens as it is made to be an ultra-wide zoom option for wide focal lengths.
This gives you a 9-blade diaphragm and moisture-resistant build w/ an aperture range of f/2.8-f/22. This will work on Sony E Mount shooters (a6300/a6400/a6500) as well as their FE Mount shooters (a7R III/a7 III/a9). The 17-28mm is the APS-C equivalent of a focal length around 24.5-42mm. And unlike Sigma lenses, you won’t need to pony up more $$$ for an adapter as this works natively w/ Sony’s autofocus system.
