For many consumers, Bose has been the go headphones for those commuting on trains or traveling on planes.  Namely, the QC (or Quiet Comfort) 35 series which were the kings of blocking out the noise.  While Bose has been well-known for their superior noise-cancelling abilities, other companies like Sony and others have been catching up.  Bose has been taking notice and came up w/ a solution to properly combat the competition.  Enter the Bose Noise-Cancelling Headphones 700.

So what’s exactly new w/ the new 700 series headphones?  A lot actually.  Starting w/ a complete redesign that’s different from the atypical Bose look.  Like a new headband made to fit all size heads and new streamlined buttons on the earcups.  The new look adds:

  • touch controls on the earcups
  • access to a voice assistant (Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri)
  • voice control to access things like navigation, weather, music and more
  • a total of 11 levels of noise-cancellation that can be adjusted based on your situation
  • a 20-hour battery life
  • fast charging via USB-C
  • EQ that can be tweaked via Bose Music app
  • Bose AR technology that is a 1st-ever audio augmented reality platform

So how does it sound?

Its you’re signature Bose sound tuned w/ a little more kick than previously.  Drums have a little more kick, sound effects watching media has a bit more oomph behind it, and voices sound clear.  It wasn’t wasted on me as I definitely appreciated it.

How well does it cancel noise?

Pretty damn well.  Bose is flexing their NC abilities against the competition to show everyone who did it 1st and better than everyone for quite some time now.  You got 10 levels of NC and after the 6th level, the outside world is practically mute.
