Yesterday while we were out in Brooklyn for Samsung’s event, this bit of news started circling around about some new Pixel 4 details.  Some exciting news for you Pixel +stock Android purists out there.

So according to the folks over at 9to5Google, the Pixel 4 will have the much-needed & wanted upgrades to compete outside of the photo side of things.  So both models will have a 90Hz refresh rate on their OLED displays.  This would give it the same as on the OnePlus 7 Pro as Google is said to dub it Smooth Display.  The Pixel 4 is said to offer a 5.7inch FHD+ display while the Pixel 4 XL is said to have a 6.3inch QHD+ display.

Next, its finally getting a bump in RAM.  So instead of 4GB it’s said to be 6GB of RAM.  It’s not 8GB but still better than 4GB.  As far as the battery sizes, the Pixel 4 will have a 2800mAh battery while the 4XL will have a 3700mAh battery.  And lastly, the shooters.  Both will offer a 12MP phase-detect auto-focus and a 16MP telephoto w/ a possible DSLR-like attachment accessory as well.

It will still offer stereo speakers, the Titan M security chip, and hopefully, the next-gen Google Assistant seen at I/O this year.  So the Pixel 4 is looking to be simple on the outside and more powerful & complex smartphone from Google.  And I, for one, can’t wait until October to check it out.

How about you?  Do the new features fuel your interest on the Pixel 4 or not at all?
