Just when you thought the Nintendo Switch couldn’t get any better, this happens. Announced yesterday during their Nintendo Direct event, they’re bringing retro Super Nintendo games to the portable console.
Starting today you’ll be able to play 20 retro SNES titles on the Switch Online service. This will join the NES titles already made available on the service as more SNES titles will arrive as time goes on. Curious to know what 20 games are coming, we got you covered. They’re all listed below:
- Super Mario Kart
- Kirby’s Dream Course
- Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island
- F-Zero
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Super Mario World
- Star Fox
- Stunt Race FX
- Super Metroid
- Kirby’s Dream Land 3
- Pilotwings
- Super Soccer
- Super Tennis
- Brawl Brothers
- Demon’s Crest
- Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics
- Super E.D.F. Earth Defense Force
- Super Puyo Puyo 2
- Breath of Fire
- Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts
These titles will support their rewind feature as well. This will allow to access previous points of game progress to pick up playing there. And since we’re talking about the SNES, Nintendo is dropping a $30 SNES controller for the Switch. Which is great as the button layout inspired damn-near all of the controllers on today’s consoles.
I might have to pick one up just for Super Mario World & Pilotwings alone. Who’s excited for this news?
