So we told you that it was coming, it took a while but its finally here.  Say hello to DJi’s smallest drone w/ the new Mavic Mini.  Its design retains that of their previous drones w/ folding arms, gimbal and such but there’s a lot they packed into this little guy.

The new Mini weighs in about 0.55lbs which equates to that of a smartphone.  You got a 12MP CMOS sensor coupled w/ a 3-axis motorized gimbal for smooth video + crisp shots.  Speaking of video, no 4K here like we thought but you can get up to 2.7K or QHD video @25/30fps and 1080p video @60fps.  They even baked in some smart features to help you pull off shots if you’re not experienced.  They call them QuickShot modes that will give you aerial or orbital shots w/ a push of a button.  The 4 modes are Dronie, Circle, Helix, and Rocket.  All of this w/ a 30 minute battery life.

The Mavic Mini is due out on November 11th for $399 for the standard version (drone, remote, 1 battery, & spare propellers) and $499 for the Fly More Combo (a 360-degree propeller cage, 2-way charging hub, 3 batteries, 3 extra sets of propellers, and a carrying case).

Is this the new compact drone you’ve been waiting for?
