Yesterday morning, the folks over at NVIDIA finally dropped the new leaked Shield TV streaming devices. Meet the new updated Shield TV and the Shield TV Pro for 2019 w/ better internals and equipped for better gaming.
The new Shield TV offers a new cylinder dongle design to it. Inside lies a Tegra X1+ CPU that’s 25% faster, a 256-core GPU, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of storage w/ microSD slot, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet + HDMI ports. The new one gives you up to 4K HDR content w/ Dolby Atmos + Vision and utilizes AI to upscale HD to 4K.
Meanwhile, the new Shield TV Pro retains the same design box. Inside you got a Tegra X1+ CPU, a 256-core GPU, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage w/ microSD slot, AI upscaling to 4K, Dolby Atmos + Vision, and access to advanced Android games.
Both versions of the new Shield remote offers motion-activated back lighting, a lost remote finder built-in, new dedicated Power buttons, volume controls, media controls, and powered by 2 AAA batteries that last up to 6 months.
