So how has working from home, social distancing, and quarantining been working out for everyone? For some of you, its been a week and for others its been closer to 2 weeks. So I’m not sure if you’re running out of things to do and watch for the most part. If you’re looking for things to do or a different spin on things to do, we got some thing for you.
Here are a few apps out there that will allow you to watch content w/ your friends virtually. We got a few picks that have been floating around the Internet to help make your days at home a lot more entertaining. Let’s dive into them now.
Netflix Party
This is one is probably the one that’s been used the most. Netflix Party allows you to watch Netflix content and live chat w/ your friends & others. Now it is only available as a Chrome extension but is free – so as long as you have access/subscribed to Netflix. No Fire Stick users.
Metastream
Now Metastream is another alternative that does a bit more. This one is similar to Netflix Party but opens it up to more platforms. Metastream brings the live chat feature to Netflix as well as Hulu, YouTube, Twitch, & Crunchyroll. This is available as a Chrome & Firefox extension for more choices. Now keep in mind that the service is in beta so there may be some bugs present.
TwoSeven
The TwoSeven app does everything Metastream does but adds other platforms and brings video into the mix. You got a video chat + live chat features for Netflix as well as Amazon Prime Video, HBO Now, YouTube, & Vimeo for free. There is a premium option for Hulu & Disney+ for $3 per month (COVID-19 sale price BTW).
Plug.DJ
This one is a bonus pick for those of you who want to take a break from the laptop/TV. Plug DJ gives you the same experience but for a strictly music offering. You can enter a room based on your genre preference and chat w/ others and so forth. This can come in handy whenever D-Nice or your favorite DJ ain’t rocking on IG Live.
