In a surprise move, Call Of Duty is getting competitive in the battle royale arena.  Starting today, they’re dropping their new battle royale mode called Warzone and gives players a new way to get back into the game.

So Warzone is their version of battle royale w/ 150 players w/ the ability to form squads of 3.  The interesting thing is that this will include cross-progression + cross-play across the available platforms of PC, PS4, & Xbox One.

In Warzone after your 1st death, players are sent to their new map: the Gulag.  And then as other revived players arrive, you can do one-on-one showdowns before getting a turn.  The winner gets to go back into into the main Battle Royale game and the loser does not.  In turn, earning your spot back on the playing field.  Also worth noting, the Warzone mode allows you to earn $$$ getting kills + doing contracts.  You can use $$ to buy supplies, weapons, or even revive a player for a premium cost.

Call Of Duty: Warzone drops today for free and don’t require the game as well.  If you have the latest Modern Warfare, the addition will take up 18GB to 22GB of space and if you don’t have it, it will take up 83GB to 101GB of space.  Like I said previously, it will be on PC, PS4, & Xbox One as it drops 10AM PST/1PM EST for game owners and 12PM PST/3PM EST for everyone else.

So who’s grabbing this when it drops?
