We knew it was coming and here it is.  Earlier this afternoon, Sonos revealed their new vision for their premium soundbar.  Introducing the new Sonos Arc, a new slimmer soundbar set to replace both the Playbar & the Playbase in their high-end lineup.

So what makes the new Arc different?  This is their new & improved soundbar w/ Dolby Atmos support comprised of matte plastic w/ 76,000 holes drilled into the casing in a 270-degree curved design.  Inside you got a total of 11 drivers (8 woofers + 3 tweeters) w/ 2 of them being up-firing height speakers.  Keep in mind that you don’t have any DTS or multichannel PCM audio support but you do have Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital Plus, Apple Airplay 2, and Alexa/Google Assistant support.  The Arc will cost you $799 and will be $100 more than their previous soundbars though.

Also new, we got the updated 3rd-gen Sub  subwoofer for $699 and the new Sonos 5 speaker for $499.  The new Sonos 5 offers improved internals + performance but no added mics for virtual assistant support.  All of the new things announced will support the redesigned Sonos app and run their new Sonos S2 software.  Everything except the new app will drop on June 10th and the app drops on June 8th.

Will you be upgrading to the Arc or any of the other new speakers?
