Well, today was the day where Canon shows off everything they have yet to tell us about the EOS R5 & R6 cameras.  This will be more of a direct answer to what everything Sony is doing w/ the A7III + A7R Line of full-frame mirrorless shooters.  Sow e finally got the full specs, pricing, & availability.  So let’s break it all down.

The EOS R5 is their new top-tier shooter giving you everything you could ever want in a portable mirrorless body.  It offers a 45MP sensor w/ an ISO range of 100-51,200 that is capable of 8K RAW Internal @30fps as well as 8K 10-bit 4:2:2 Canon Log, 4K video up to 120fps, and 4K external recording up to 60fps.  All of this w/ no crop for both 4K + 8K video as well as access to their amazing Dual Pixel AF in all 4K + 8K video modes.  Canon is definitely pulling out all stops as this will have a 1st for the company w/ 5-axis IBIS (In-Body Stabilization) that will work in tandem w/ the OIS on their RF + EF lenses.  And last but not least, you’ll have dual card slots present w/ one being a CF express and the other being an SD one.  You can actually simultaneously shoot a 4K MP4 file while shooting 8K RAW which is Canon truly flexing all that they’re capable of.

If the R5 has a bit more power than you need right now, Canon has you covered.  You can direct your eyes towards the EOS R6 which is slight step down but not lacking in power at all.  It offers a 20MP full-frame mirrorless sensor w/ in-body image stabilization + ISO range of 100-102400, capable of oversampled 5K/4K @60fps/1080p up to 120fps, Canon Log, 10-bit video shooting, dual SD slots, 12fps mechanical + 20fps electronic, AF system identical + EVF from the EOS R5, and head + animal detection AF.

The EOS R5 drops at the end of July for $3,900 for the body only and $5,000 for the kit option that comes w/ a f/4 24-105mm.  While the EOS R6 is coming at the end of Aufgust for $2,500 for the body only + $2,899 for the kit option w/ RF 24-105 F4-7.1 IS STM lens kit.

Canon looks like they ain’t playing around anymore as these sound amazing. So which one do you plan on picking up?
