Bevel is a company the started in 2014 for people of color to better deal w/ shaving w/o getting razor bumps.  Their Bevel Trimmer debuted about 4 years ago and has gone on to get a refresh w/ more battery life and an additional T-Blade attachment piece.  So I finally picked it up a few weeks back and put it to the test.

The Bevel Trimmer is a beautiful, versatile, & well-built trimmer.

Cracking open the box is like unboxing a phone rather than a trimmer.  The packaging is nice as we opted for the limited Black edition trimmer.  It comes w/ the usual warranty/instructions/quick start guide as well as a carrying pouch, charger, blade oil, & brush.  The trimmer itself is cordless w/ an 8-hour battery life + standby time up to 6 months, easy-to-clean, and can get a closer cut by adjusting its Zero Gap Dial.  It has a nice bit of heft to it but not chunky or heavy weighing in at just 2.19oz.

It had enough juice to get started right away w/o having to charge it.  It felt like the one I used so there was no adjustment period while using it.  This is thanks to their soft-touch grip around the entire thing.  My hair came off as easily as I expected it to w/o a lot of effort to do so.  I did have to adjust the Zero Gap Dial after a while as I felt like it wasn’t getting close enough for my head.

Just snapped off the blade and was able to make the adjustment – no tool needs.  That definitely improved the experience but adjusting it is not for sensitive skin.  However, I still feel like my Andis got a little bit closer though.  I used it off + on over the course of an hour or so, it didn’t get hot at all – not even warm.  My Andis trimmer would have been super hot in that amount of time.

So the Bevel Trimmer is a good investment for those of you who don’t already own an Andis or Wahl trimmer.  It’s super easy to use/clean/adjust and can be used w/ a cord or w/o one.  Making this ideal to take on trips – once we can really start doing that again.  However, I called it an investment as its not cheap. It retails for $200 but you can grab one on Amazon for $180 or less if they’re on sale.  Especially when you can grab one of the aforementioned clippers for a lot less.  If you’re looking for something similar but cheaper, check out our review on the Philips OneBlade trimmer.  So still not getting rid of my clippers for this though.
