The new Xbox Series S/X will have a decent amount of storage space available and when I say decent I mean 512GB/1TB. But w/ these new graphic-intense games coming, that space will fill up quickly.
Yesterday, Microsoft unveiled the pricing to their proprietary storage options. The expandable SSDs made by Seagate will cost you $220 for 1TB. If they’re older games, you can just put them on an regular hard drive or SSD. But for actual titles made for the Series S/X, these will be the only way to store them outside of the internal storage.
The good news for those of you who’re buying a Series S is that game will take up 30% less storage than the Series X. So you won’t have to worry about filling up your 1.5TB of space up. Those of you who grabbed a PS5 will be able to use your own drive but will need to still be a faster top of the line storage to be used as well.
Does this make you want to pump the brakes on upgrading to next-gen gaming or are you unphased by this bit of news?
