PaMu Quiet: Affordable & Great ANC Earbuds

The PaMu Quiets offer the atypical stem design modeled after the Apple AirPods. A bit more than the PaMu Slide & PaMu Slide Mini earbuds. You got pretty responsive touch controls on the top-end of the stems for the usual media playback, answering/rejecting calls, & accessing virtual assistants. Like the many of the Pamu products, you got IPX4 dust & water-resistant body here as well.

The charging case is modeled after an older pocket watch w/ the crown being the release to open the case. The buds have a magnetic connection inside and on the outside offers a ring to show off the battery life. You got a USB-C port as well as support for wireless charging.

Now as far as how comfortable are these buds? Didn’t really have any discomfort or problems staying in. They’re pretty good in ear despite not having any stabilizers. I can wear them until the battery dies off on them as well as chew gum, tilt my head, & more w/ ease.

Inside of the PaMu Quiets, you got 10mm drivers, utilizing Bluetooth 5.1, and armed w/ dual chipsets on board consisting of a Qualcomm QCC 5124 + an AMS 3460 to handle the hybrid active noise-canceling. More on that in a bit. The sound on these buds is pretty damn good. They’re pumping out full, big sound w/ good amount of depth, bass, & clarity. Comparable to my favorite sounding buds: the Sony SP900Ns + 2nd-gen Pixel Buds. They also support aptX Classic, SBC, AAC sound profiles BTW.

Great sound w/ even better ANC abilities.

Now back to the noise-canceling part of things, these work pretty well. Now I haven’t tested the Sony WF-1000XM3s to compare but against the AirPods Pro, they’re pretty close to it. Iwas impressed on well it worked. You also have a transparency mode as well that you can access by long-pressing the right earbud. As far as taking calls on it, my voice wasn’t as clear on these buds as others – even w/ the 3 mics on board.

Now this is where we would get into probably one of the negatives w/ these buds: the battery life. Being on-par w/ the AirPods a bit in design + features set, it sucks that the battery life is even less than Apple. PaMu quoted them at 3 and half hours of juice on a single charge. However, you can charge it up to 3x in its charging case to give you 10 and hours in total. However, you can get a little bit more juice when you turn ANC off. This will boost it up closer to 5 hours on a single charge.

PaMu keeps their great audio quality but adds superb ANC abilities but at the cost of the battery.

Padmate Tech appears to have added one of the missing pieces in crafting a better earbuds w/ the addition of active noise-canceling. The PaMu Quiet earbuds retain the good audio quality + comfy fit while adding amazing hybrid ANC tech. However, at the cost of the battery life compared to their previous earbuds which gave you 10-hours of juice per charge.

With all of that said, its still ideal to workout with, walk around, or use during a commute. It just depends on what you need in a pair of earbuds – if you need ANC or not. You got these or countless others earbuds to choose from. If you do want to pick these up, they will retail for $159 but you can currently pick them up for only $89 via their Indiegogo campaign.
