In case you didn’t notice, OnePlus has been slowly expanding their product line to more than just smartphones. They got earbuds, smart TVs (in select markets), budget + flagship phones, & backpacks to name a few.
For 2021, it looks like they’re finally getting into the smartwatch arena. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau shared the news via Twitter as you can see above that their 1st take on smartwatches is due out early next year. Apparently OnePlus was set to drop one years ago back when Google called WearOS Android Wear. But whatever the case, it was completely scrapped.
Interestingly enough, Oppo dropped their 1st smartwatch earlier this year. Since OnePlus & Oppo have a lot in common, we can expect it to share some design or features from the Oppo Watch.
