Google’s laptops are already the best sellers in the education market overtaking Microsoft and selling 4x times what they usually do last year during the pandemic.  Google is keeping their feet on the neck of the competition and announced a wave of new features focused on education for Chrome OS coming to Chromebooks.

One of the bigger features revealed was a built-in screen recorder which would be helpful for virtual lessons.  There’s also a new screen reader called ChromeVox where the voice now changes based on the language of the text its reading and search its menus.  Then there’s a new Family Link (or their built-in parental-control app) to manage your kids school accounts via screen time limits, bedtimes, & other restrictions.

To make it even better, Google stated that they will be launching over 40 new Chromebooks for 2021 and all will be better equipped for Google Meet + Zoom.  Being a big Chromebook advocate, this is all amazing news and happy to hear that its continuing to thrive.
