Earlier this week, Google added a dope feature to Google Maps that will come in handy for those of you who commute & drive a lot. They’ve added the ability to pay for metered parking + public transit from within Google Maps.
So now Google will be able to notice when you’re nearby street parking and will offer an option to pay for parking. They worked w/ services like ParkMobile + Passport to help pull this off. In regards to public transit, if you pulling directions involving a subway to railway, you’ll see a Google Pay & other options to pay your fare within Maps as well.
The Pay for Parking feature has already began rolling out in over 400 cities here in the US like Boston, Cincinnati, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, DC, & more. Android gets it 1st as iOS support is on the way. The pay for transit will be supported to 80- agencies across the globe and will arrive in coming weeks on Android.
