Today, Microsoft made their 4th-gen Surface Laptop official and added an interesting configuration option to the mix. You now have the choice of AMD Ryzen 4000 series or Intel’s 11th-gen Core i5/i7 CPUs to power your laptop as well as 13.5 or 15inch models.
The Surface Laptop 4 touts up to 70% more performance over the previous model. You can get up to 16GB of RAM + 256GB SSD for the Ryzen models and up to 32GB of RAM + 1TB SSD on the Intel models. In regards to ports, you’re getting a single USB-C port, a USB-A port, a headphone jack, and Microsoft’s Surface Connect port for charging.
You can get up to 19-hours of battery life on the 13.5inch AMD and up to 17.5 hours on the 15inch model. While the Intel CPUs will grant you up to 17 hours on the 13.5inch and up to 16.5 hours on the 15inch model. Intel versions will also get the latest Iris Xe GPU as well.
The new Surface Laptop 4 will go on sale on April 15th starting at $999 for the Ryzen CPU and $1299 for the Intel CPU. For those of you who pre-order yours ahead of the 15th will get the Surface Earbuds for free.
