Yesterday, Tamron added another lens to their ever-growing Sony E-Mount lens selection to compete against Sigma & now Sony. More specifically, their new f/2.8 11-20mm wide-angle zoom APS-C lens.

Tamron’s new glass gives you a lightweight design, wide-angle zoom, auto-focus, & great sharpness. You got 12 elements in 10 groups to give you corner-to-corner sharpness, one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) + 2 LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements w/ fewer aberrations, Tamron’s BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating to reduce ghosting + flare, fluorine coating, moisture-resistant construction, and an RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor as its compatible w/ Sony’s Fast Hybrid AF + Eye AF.

All of this w/ a minimum focusing distance of 5.9inch which is great versatility for photo/video work. The new Tamron f/2.8 11-20mm lens is coming in late June for only around $829.
