Google has been dabbling w/ the store front idea for many a years now.  They’ve done temporary pop-ups in NYC and other cities w/ the launch of select products but they’re finally going all in w/ a physical retail store in the Chelsea neighborhood of 15th & 9th Ave in NYC.

These stores would sell all of the many products Google has to offer: from Pixel phones/books to Nest smarthome things to Fitbits and much more.  Including 3rd-party accessories & their amazing Google drip like tees, sweaters, hoodies, & hats.   But instead of just being a retail show space, it has more to offer.

The Google Store will offer lots of light w/ warm tones thanks to cork + wood furniture comprised of recycled materials.  It will offer product-specific experiences called Sandboxes where you can demo products in the desired scenario.  Like a room to show of Pixel phones low-light camera abilities, using a Nest Hub to answer the door, use Google Translate to converse in over 24 languages in real-time, play Stadia games, and more.  There will even be on-site repair for Pixel phones/products as well as product support for all of their hardware.  As well as some software support as well but only for consumer products though.

The Google Store in NYC will open its doors tomorrow, June 17th at 10AM EST.  Definitely looking forward to checking the store out soon.  How about you?
