US Mobile: Probably One Of The Best MVNOs You've Never Heard Of

From Visible to Google Fi, we’re now moving onto the next pre-paid MVNO carrier we’re covering: US Mobile. US Mobile is powered by the combined networks of T-Mobile & Verizon in one. Verizon is called Super LTE on their SIM card + T-Mobile is GSM LTE on the SIM. Despite LTE being thrown around, they do support 5G speeds w/ a corresponding 5G phone. We’re about 3 months in with the service and we’re ready to share our thoughts on it.

They offer a hell of options in the custom bundle or the unlimited varieties. You got unlimited talk + Text is $10 and add 1GB of data is $10, 5GB is $15, 12GB is $20, 18GB is $25, & 30GB is $30. There’s an all-in unlimited plan that is $45 per month. In regards to unlimited family plans, you got a few options as well. 2 lines are $30 per line per month & 3 lines are $25 per line per month. The hotspot option isn’t included but you can add a 20GB option for $10 per month. All unlimited plans have no data caps either BTW.

Now US Mobile has one thing over all of the other MVNOs: perks. They offer a wide variety of benefits for those of you who opt for their unlimited plans. You got over 13 services to take advantage of via streaming audio, gaming, & video. So if you have 2 Unlimited plans, you can choose to get Slacker Plus Live x Live, Pandora Plus, or Apple TV Plus. With 3 lines, you then get Disney Plus bundle w/ Hulu + ESPN Plus, Netflix Standard, an Audible membership, Spotify Premium Family, or Apple Music Family. And last but not least, if you have 4 lines or more, you can get PlayStation Plus, Stadia Pro, or Xbox Live Gold. Now you’ll only be able to choose one service per section based on how many unlimited lines you have. Really nice!

What About International Plans?

US Mobile does offer international service + options as well in over 140 countries. Unlimited users will get access 10GB of LTE roaming speeds internationally while the non-unlimited bundle users will get 5GB of LTE speeds. US Mobile will support eSIMs as well BTW. You’ll be able to receive calls but won’t be able to make outgoing calls – at least until they get their Wi-Fi Calling feature up.

Do They Sell Phones? Kind Of.

US Mobile doesn’t have the largest variety to choose from in regards to their smartphones at the current time. You got the smaller Palm Phone, the Wisephone, the Motorola Moto E, and a variety of iPhone options like the iPhone SE, XR, 11, 12, & the 12 Mini. However, US Mobile does support about 99% of smartphones on the market so you can bring your own to the party if need be.

Throughout my time w/ it, I had inside of my iPhone 11 Pro Max and it ran like a dream. I was gifted w/ the Unlimited All plan via their Super LTE SIM card. I was able to make calls w/ ease w/o dropping calls or dropping data in dead zones throughout my everyday travels in NJ as well as visits in PA.

As far as what kind of speeds I was getting? I was pulling about 100Mbps download + 16Mbps upload on average via LTE. I didn’t come across any throttling or slowdowns either. Making for a pleasant & painless experience over the course of a few months.

US Mobile offers one of the best versatility, coverage, & perks you'd expect from a regular carrier but w/the flexibility of a pre-paid carrier.

While US Mobile isn’t relatively new as its been around since 2014, it has gone under a revamp under the past few years. They’ve done a great job in filling in the holes other pre-paid carriers have been missing out on. I was pleased w/ US Mobile’s service and its reliability as I never had to worry about phone calls, emails, & reception. But it’s not all roses & sunshine though. It may not be the best for buying phones there or international plans but for everything domestic, it’s pretty damn good.
