After being teased w/ countless leaks & damn-near reveals, today is the day for it all to end. Today is Google’s Pixel 6 event and we’ll get confirmation to see who was right & who was wrong w/ their intel. So let’s get into the official specs of it all.
The Google Pixel 6 offers a tactile alloy frame, a 6.4inch AMOLED display, 8GB of RAM, 128 or 256GB of storage, and a 4614 mAh battery. While the 6 Pro is said to offer a polished alloy frame, a 6.7inch curved P OLED display, 12GB of RAM, 128GB/256GB/512GB storage options, and offering a 5003 mAh battery. With both batteries offering wireless + reverse wireless features as well. Both Pixel 6 will obviously run Android 12, new in-display Pixel Imprint fingerprint reader but will offer 5 years of support which is the longest of a Google smartphone.
As far as the shooters & its features go, the Pixel 6 will offer an 8MP ultrawide selfie camera, a dual rear camera setup w/ a 50MP wide-angle + 12MP ultra-wide. While the 6 Pro will offer a 11MP ultrawide selfie camera, and a triple rear camera setup comprised of a 50MP wide-angle, 48MP telephoto, and a 12MP ultra-wide. Both will offer 4K@60fps video for the main and 4K@30fps for the ultra-wide + telephoto lenses.
There are new manual controls for white balance adjustment in an effort to better capture diverse skin tones, the Magic Eraser feature teased back at I/O a few years back, Face Deblur, Scene Lock, Bluetooth mic support, Motion Blur, Baby Mode, & more along w/ the usual AI-based image rendering + Astrophotography.
