When Google crafted its latest 4th-gen Nest Thermostat, it added the new Farsight feature, which activates when you’re as close as 5ft or as far as 10ft away. You can think of them as clock faces or lock screen clocks for your thermostat. Effective yesterday, Google unveiled four new Farsight faces: Seasonal, Minimal, Nest Classic, and Temp Controller.
The Seasonal option is courtesy of artist Mathilde Loubes, which adds 12 animated illustrations of flowers and fruit that update monthly. The Minimal option lives up to its name with line-drawn shapes showing cooling, heating, or eco modes. Nest Classic is an updated take on the original Nest screen design. And the Temp Controller uses animations behind the numeric temperature to display the weather outside.
The new Farsight faces began rolling out yesterday, and when they arrive, you can check your thermostat settings to cycle through and activate.
