Are you tired of all mobile gaming controllers looking and offering the same? Looking for an entirely different solution that’s adaptable and does a bit more? We got you covered. Introducing the ohSnap MCON magnetic gaming controller, which offers a pocket-sized console controller that can be played three ways: handheld, tabletop, or with a TV. After raising over $1.5 million with more than 16,000 backers on Kickstarter, it’s now available for purchase.

The MCON measures less than an inch thick, weighs in just 0.43lbs, and can be easily removed for phone calls, emails, or messaging by using its slider mechanism. It utilizes Mag-Res joysticks, analog triggers, ergonomic grips, dual handles that sit at a 152-degree angle for added comfort, MagSafe/Pixelsnap mounting, and a built-in 6-axis gyroscope for motion-based games. The controller’s design is made with repairs in mind with standardized screws, threaded inserts, replaceable modules, and 3D-printable parts. The MCON also has a 500 mAh battery that is quoted at up to just over 15 hours of battery life, uses Bluetooth 5.4 with a maximum range of around 32ft, can connect up to 3 devices, and can be used wired with USB-C.

And because you’re using your smartphone, it easily works with cloud-gaming services like Xbox Game Pass, PS Remote, and GeForce Now. For tabletop gaming, users can remove the cover and open its built-in kickstand to prop up their smartphone for Kickback Mode. However, only iPhone users can enjoy a console-like, TV experience (ie, Switch or Switch 2) by using the MCON Dock, which plugs into your TV’s HDMI port and connects with little-to-no latency at up to 4K @ 60Hz with HDR support.

This does look amazing, as I’m curious to try it. I’m just curious if gaming with both joysticks next to each other and not like most gaming controllers would be hindering or not.
