We already knew the forthcoming Xbox console was in the works, and now we have confirmation along with the answer to another rumor. The next-gen Xbox code name is ‘Project Helix,’ and it will play both Xbox and PC games, according to the newly appointed Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma.

Yesterday afternoon, Sharma shared this info on X alongside the official Xbox account. Sharma also stated in her first memo as Xbox CEO that she was committed to the ‘return of Xbox,’ focusing on the console that made them great and acknowledging fans’ complaints about the shrinking number of Xbox exclusives. She also revealed that it will lead in performance and will divulge more details on the upcoming console at GDC next week with partners and developers.

The previous Xbox boss, Sarah Bond, described the next-gen console as ‘a very premium, very high-end curated experience.’ So, with the rising costs in RAM, and the company looking to position the console as such, expect to pay near or around $1,000 for the new Xbox. FYI: The last part is merely my two cents, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it came into fruition.
