While Bose has been synonymous with superior audio products—namely in the noise-canceling headphone space—the company has made a multitude of home audio products over the years. However, I think they’re taking it more seriously this time around.
Earlier this morning, Bose unveiled its newest lineup of home audio speakers: the Lifestyle Collection. The new lineup consists of the $300 Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, the $1,100 Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, and the $900 Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer. All of which support Apple AirPlay and Google Cast and can be used separately, in multiple rooms, or in a single setup.
The new Lifestyle Ultra Speaker is a small speaker with a design comprised of a knit fabric grill, touch controls on the top, and a radial slider for volume. Inside lies a total of three drivers: two front-facing and one up-firing, which utilizes the company’s TrueSpatial for depth and CleanBass for high-quality bass. It can also be used as an Alexa+ smart speaker, offers Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support, and has a 3.5mm jack for wired access.
The Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar has a design seen with most soundbars, with a long and flat seamless look with a glass top and touch controls. Inside of this, a 5.2-channel soundbar offers a total of six full-range drivers consisting of two up-firing and four front-facing, which include a center tweeter and two drivers for directional audio. Yes, this soundbar can handle Dolby Atmos, TrueSpatial, and 3D sound. It can also be upgraded to a 7.1.4-channel setup by adding two Lifestyle Ultra speakers and an accompanying Subwoofer, which offers deep bass to help create a home theater experience at home.
All three Bose Lifestyle Ultra products will arrive in black or white smoke-color options, as the Ultra Speaker gets a third, limited-edition Driftwood Sand color for $350. Pre-orders kick off today and will go on sale on May 15 directly on the company’s site.
