Similar to last year, Google is doing a separate showcase ahead of Google I/O 2026. This will be an entirely different showcase from its two-hour keynote, which includes upcoming Android news sprinkled within. So if you’re not a developer, you can skip I/O and just watch this.
So on May 12, The Android Show: I/O Edition will be live-streamed on YouTube and unveil all of the new goodies, features, and potential hardware headed to the Android platform. According to the recent Internet rumors, we’re expecting Android XR updates and new hardware announcements, new Gemini features, possibly a tease of a new Pixel flagship laptop, a new unified Android and ChromeOS platform, and the official unveiling of Android 17.
So mark your calendar for May 12 at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT. Like I previously mentioned, you can watch it all for free on YouTube or the Android homepage.
