Apparently, Samsung might give its triple-folding phablet another shot in the form of a sequel. The Galaxy Z TriFold sold out as soon as it went on sale, as if it were a pair of limited-edition Jordans of sorts. Part of the reason is the smaller production run, rumored at 30,000 units or so, and the other part is the insane demand for it.
According to a new report from The Electronic Times, the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 will be a part of Samsung’s four-phone launch approach for 2027. More specifically, the company could announce the Z Flip 9, Z Fold 9, Z Fold 9 Ultra, and Z TriFold 2 in the second half of next year. This would be in addition to the Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra during the first half of 2027.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing component and RAM shortages, the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 could end up well over $3,000. That would be a $200-$300 increase from the original model, which retailed for $2,900. This would be the case if it actually goes into production at any scale in 2027.
We already heard about the Pro line being added to the Galaxy S line of phones. The Pro model was reported to be a smaller Ultra with a smaller battery, sans the S Pen, and was previously rumored to launch this year—that obviously didn’t happen. I just wonder if this might be too many phones from Samsung, but this is only a report for the moment.
