ZTE has been working hard coming up in the ranks of the various Android manufacturers. Last night we had the joys of hanging out in NYC w/ ZTE. As they removed the curtains off of their latest flagship device: the ZMax. This device officially brings the company into the ‘phablet’ arena.
ZTE created an affordable, entry-level phablet.
The ZMax sports a 5.7inch 720p LCD display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, running Android 4.4 Kit Kat, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage w/ microSD expansion, 1.6MP front-facing + 8MP rear-facing shooters, Dolby Digital sound, and a 3400 mAh battery. The ZMax is a T-Mobile exclusive as it will support their latest Wi-Fi Unleashed out of the box.
It has a bit of a curve by the edges to fit better in your hand. Feels pretty good. It has a nice heft to it but not a heavy brick. Not too heavy either. The rear is a fingerprint magnet as it is made from a smooth plastic. Nothing to complain about as its definitely something many of you are used to by now.
It will launch next week on September 24th for T-Mo. You can pick one up for only $252 off contract or for $10.50 for 24 months using their payment plan.
