Its been a long time since OJ’s chase in a White Bronco which I’m sure Ford hopes everyone forgets about it. Last night, Ford is announced their long-awaited return of their Bronco line. Took a while to unveil it since there are no car shows happening this year. So let’s dive into all that is new w/ it.
As far as what’s under the hood, you got a 2.3L turbocharged 4-cylinder 270HP + 310lb ft of torque and a 2.7L turbo V6 310HP + 400lb ft of torque, and you got a 7-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. You got some obvious 4 x 4 action but w/ up to 7 levels depending on what trim you get consisting of Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand, plus Baja, Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl. There is also a Trial One-Pedal Drive for better control when rock crawling + Trial Control which is a low-speed off road cruise control system as well as Trail Turn Assist for tight turns. You can get up to 35inch tires as an option as well.
In regards to the infotainment system, you got Ford’s Sync 4 software present that adds Apple CarPlay + Android Auto support (the smaller Sport model utilizes Sync 3). This brings forth either a standard 8inch or optional 12inch touchscreen LCD display that includes over 1,000 curated topographic trail maps that works w/ or w/o Internet access. And last but not least, you got an 360-degree camera system w/ enhanced cameras at each front wheel to help w/ spotting.
So you got the smaller Bronco Sport as well as the regular Bronco in 2dr or 4dr options. Ford is taking notes from Jeep and allowing you to include a hardtop that can be removed along w/ other sections like the doors + trunk cover. You can pre-order yours today over at Ford’s website w/ a $100 reservation as the pricing will start at $29,995. Ford is hoping to have them arrive sometime in the spring of 2021.
