Alongside Google’s new hardware, the company is also rolling out new software features for them. The focal point of the software behind the Pixel 11 and Pixel Watch 5 is Gemini Intelligence, announced at Google I/O in May. This is essentially Google’s take on system-wide proactive assistance, with newer features that extend to the camera and beyond.
Google has a new mode in the camera app called Magic Capture, which uses AI to capture video and cropped, edited HDR images—all with a single tap. Pixel users can get a little closer with Google’s digital-powered zoom: 120x Pro Zoom on Pro Pixels or 30x Super Zoom on Pixel 11 and 11 Pro Fold. Also new is the ability to craft your own film-quality filters called Camera Looks, which use Pixel’s Real Tone and are said to work across all skin tones.
Thanks to the new Tensor G6 chip, low-light shots get up to 4.5x faster with the new Instant Night Sight. Pro Stable Video is a new addition to the cloud-based Video Boost that uses AI to stabilize shaky video up to 8K quality. And there’s a new Creator Suite of tools for video editing, the ability to use your selfie camera as a teleprompter, and an audio-visualizer for mic checks, storyboarding with photos, and more.
Lastly, Gemini Intelligence brings features, such as Rambler, which uses AI to listen better when using voice-to-text in multiple languages and to remove filler words like ‘umm,’ ‘like,’ and ‘ahh.’ You can let Gemini make calls for you with a live transcript and the ability to take over at any time, pull relevant info from your apps for calendar availability and flight info, and perform multi-step automation—a slightly evolved version of the app automation previously available on the Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 phones.
No word on if any of these new features will trickle down to older Pixel phones and watches in the near future.
